VOLUME VII                                      FLORIDA'S  SUNCOAST - JUNE, 2018                                 NUMBER 6

This month we are taking a trip on the Clearwater Ferry to Clearwater Beach. The Ferry charges $8 round-trip ($6 for Seniors) and is a pleasant alternative to the bumper-to-bumper traffic and $3/hr parking charges at the beach.

The Ferry handles 21 passengers comfortably. It makes a loop every hour with four stops 15 minutes apart.

The ride is short but you might see a pirate ship, a jet boat or maybe even the guardians of our coastline. Clearwater Ferry website.

The first Ferry stop is at the busy and colorful waterfront across from the beach. From here you might take a boat tour on a pirate ship, book a fishing charter or rent a Sea-Doo and do your own tour. Now on to the beach!

You'll quickly see why Clearwater Beach is always rated high in the top beaches of the World. Last year it was rated #1!

Miles of white sugar sand greets you along with the famous Pier 60, where there's a "show" every evening as everyone awaits a new sunset that paints the entire sky varying shades of pinks and orange before and after the globe descends into the Gulf to the West ushering in another pleasant, sub-tropical evening.

Street performers at the Pier may include acrobats, magicians or fire eaters. Local vendors display their crafts as well.

Mandalay Avenue runs North and South just off the beach and is a mecca for diners, souvenier hunters and shoppers.

You'll find Hooters and Starbucks as well as local icons like Frenchy's, Cody's and The Beachcomber and other snack, ice cream and souvenier shops.

Palm Pavilion is right on the beach serving lunch, dinner and "free" spectacular sunsets daily!
