Oldsmar

Oldsmar is an area of Pinellas County with many
beautiful Parks of which people may not be aware.
One by one we are seeking them out to give you an
idea of what you will find when you visit this beautiful city originally created by the man who envisioned and built the Oldsmobile motorcar.

Part of the popularity of the Parks in Pinellas County, including the many Parks in Oldsmar is that beyond their uncommon beauty most do not charge an admission. Most also do not charge for parking.
Bicentennial Park in Oldsmar is just such a Park. It may be smaller in terms of acreage but there is much to see and do. Starting with a good-size parking lot with ample parking, especially on the weekdays.

We will start our visit today just North of the parking lot where we find the Oldsmar Organic Community Garden. This area is overflowing with greenery in privately tended, raised beds of vegetables and colorful flowers, all lovingly tended by the local gardeners. It’s a wonderful sight to see but please do not touch. The large open grassy area beside the Community Garden can provide some great exercise for you and your four-footed friend.

From the Garden area we can see the children’s play equipment in the shady distance just across the tree-lined yard. As we walk toward the play area, we intersect the paved path leading to a loop around the Park.

There is fitness equipment along the loop, also benches and picnic shelters. Nearer the parking lot are a basketball court, shuffleboard and tennis courts and three pickleball courts (paddles and balls may be rented from the Oldsmar Library.)

The Bicentennial Park loop connects with
“The Oldsmar Trail”
as are most of the City Parks in Oldsmar.
