Causeway Community Park
Dunedin Causeway

Thousands of people travel across the Dunedin Causeway every month to visit Honeymoon Island State Park. Perhaps not everyone is aware that when they are crossing the 2 ½ mile causeway it's actually a park - Causeway Community Park.

Free and open to the public daily from 5 AM to 11 PM. There are accessible beach areas on both sides of the roadway with plenty of free parking. It's a great place to sunbathe, do a little fishing, offload your jet-ski (it has its own beach area). Maybe rent a kayak or paddleboard or maybe just come, sit in your car and watch another brilliant sunset. There are sidewalks the entire distance for walking and biking.

There is easy access to and from the Fred Marquis – Pinellas Trail – all the way to Honeymoon Island State Park!

It's a place where people often meet their friends. For instance on any Wednesday afternoon you might find the weekly gathering of Jeep owners. According to our Dunedin photography friend Pat Smith the group is called the Pinellas County Jeep Club and gathers socially at the Causeway every Wednesday around Sunset. It’s a social gathering and a very family friendly, fun loving group with some beautiful machines to look at.

You'll also find “Sail Honeymoon” for Kayak rentals, Stand Up Paddleboard and sailboat rentals. The “High & Dry Grill” can supply all of your favorite beverages for a hot day as well as tasty handheld items from their fairly broad menu.

In short this park is one of a kind and is a great place to hang out and just do nothing to the best of your ability.
