You’ll find several bodies of water as well as the bushes and trees often teeming with birds. Early morning is usually best but I have seen life going on even on a warm Summer afternoon.

The first time I visited a couple of years ago a gator showed me his displeasure at my being to close with quite a thrashing display before I spotted him. Something that stays in your memory. The area is quite safe though I would not advise wading in any of the water areas.

Located just a few hundred yards North of Countryside Hospital, it is an Audubon area and open to everyone. The parking off McMullen Booth Road is very limited but I assure you it is worth the visit and you will be back.
