Wall Springs Park

Palm Harbor

Welcome to Health Springs! At least
that was what it was known as from the
late 20’s until 1948 when the land returned
to its earlier name of Wall Springs. Named
after the original owner, Charles Wall, who
had purchased the natural springs
and surrounding land in 1888.

The Springs were still a popular destination into the 60’s. You can read a most interesting article that was written by Robyn Poppick and appeared in a December 2011 issue of Patch. Find it at  https://patch.com/florida/palmharbor/a-historic-spa-right-here-in-palm-harbor

We have included photocopies of a couple of postcards from when the Springs were extremely popular. It drew vacationers from all over the country and was a big boost for the local economy for many years. (We have indicated on each postcard pic where they were available at the time of our story.)

Pinellas County started buying up the Springs and the land in 1988 and it is now the 210-acre parcel of boardwalk and trails we all love to visit. There are both paved and natural trails, a boardwalk across the Springs for a closer view and to let your imagination wonder what it must have been like when the place was hopping.

There are six picnic shelters with grills, four fishing piers (a saltwater fishing license is required), and a 35’ observation tower overlooking Boggy Bayou and the Gulf of Mexico.

Make no mistake - there is much to see and do at Wall Springs, much more than we can cover here so you will just have to visit it and see for yourself. Note that this Park is connected to the Pinellas Trail - https://www.pinellascounty.org/park/default.htm

According to Pacer.com, Wall Springs Park is a 1.9 mile (4,500-step) trail and has an elevation gain of about 65.6 ft and is rated as easy.
