The trail weaves in and out of a mixture of sun and shady areas. There are plenty of birds to view. We have heard of a gator in the lake but have not personally seen one. Take it for granted that there may be alligators in any body of water in Pinellas and just be cautious near the water's edge

The North entrance to the park is located just ¼ mile West of the Pinellas Trail on Walsingham Road and easily accessible for bikers. This Park is also approximately the same distance East – by car – from 688/Ulmerton Road.

Fishing is allowed but no swimming. See the County Park page link below for fishing limits and restrictions.

There is a boat launch for canoes and kayaks (non-motorized). There are two dog parks (for small and large) on the West side. There are eight picnic shelters with grills. You will find a nice play area for the kids. There are several clean restroom facilities and a fitness area.

We noticed there is a WaWa Service Station located on the corner of Walsingham and 688. That might be just the place to pick up a sub or a sandwich and enjoy lunch at one of the many picnic tables you will find throughout the park – all of them with a nice view. (We have no affiliation with WaWa - just a thought.)

There is plenty of free parking throughout the park. Tip: It is also a good place to catch a great sunset over the lake.

Enjoy your visit and we really do love hearing your comments, suggestions and corrections.
Have an extraordinary week,
Jack and Niki
